The Western Mass Blades are the District 6 and Greater Springfield League (GSL) representatives in the Massachusetts Hockey Tier I Select League. The Blades field three distinct types of programs for youth hockey players between the ages of 6 to 18. All Blades teams are eligible for Massachusetts Hockey State Tournaments; and Pee Wee and above are eligible for the USA Hockey National Tournaments.

Statement of Purpose

› The purpose of the Western Mass Blades (Blades), is to create a solid platform in Western Mass (District 6) that will promote development and education of hockey players to compete at the highest levels of competition.

› The Blades shall provide equal opportunity to all skaters, coaches, managers, and administrators who participate without discrimination based on race, color, religion, age, sex, or national origin.

The Western Mass Blades are dedicated to the development of youth hockey players both on and off the ice. Our goal is to offer our players the best opportunity for exposure and to excel on national, high school, prep, junior, and college hockey programs. The Blades are dedicated to providing highest level of hockey and the best value for both our players and their families.
